European Association of Historic Towns and Regions

Mission: To promote the interests of historic towns throughout Europe through:
– International cooperation between heritage organisations and historic towns and regions;
– Sharing experiences and good practices;
– Promoting vitality, viability, and sustainable management of historic towns and regions.

Organisation of World Heritage Cities (OWHC)

Mission: To foster cooperation among mayors of cities that contain UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Dutch members: Amsterdam and Purmerend.
Membership open to: Cities and heritage-related organisations.

EuropaNostra

Mission: A network of diverse members focused on safeguarding Europe’s cultural and natural heritage. It campaigns for the preservation of historical monuments, sites, and cultural landscapes across Europe, aiming to give citizens a voice in cultural matters.
Dutch members: Municipality of The Hague, Province of North Brabant, and numerous organisations involved in urban heritage, rural heritage preservation, and architectural practices.
Membership open to: Local and regional authorities, foundations, partner organisations, and individuals.

European Cyclists’ Federation

Mission: To promote more and better cycling for everyone in Europe.
Dutch members: BYCS Global Programs, Dutch Cycling Embassy, Fietsersbond, Stichting Europa Fietsers.
Membership open to: Groups of bicycle users at the local, regional, or national level.

NECStouR – European Regions for Competitive and Sustainable Tourism

Mission: To develop interregional projects and promote cooperation to enable sustainable tourism governance in Europe.
Dutch members: VVV Waterland van Friesland, Province of Limburg, Destinatie Nederland, Breda University.
Membership open to: Universities, research institutes, representatives of tourism businesses, and associations for sustainable tourism.

EUROPARC Federation

Mission: To improve the management of protected areas in Europe through international cooperation, exchange of ideas and experience, and policy advocacy. The EUROPARC Federation is committed to practical nature conservation, the sustainable development of biodiversity in Europe, and holistic landscape approaches to management.
Northern Netherlands members: Schiermonnikoog National Park, Lauwersmeer National Park, De Alde Feanen National Park, Dwingelderveld National Park, Drentsche Aa National Park, Weerribben-Wieden National Park.
Membership open to: All organisations and individuals working towards similar goals.
